Hartz

I am posting this in memory of all my kitties I lost to Hartz last year.

I used there flea spray in September of last year and from Sept. to October I lost several kitties.
It is not safe to use this product, they have a chemical in it that cause them to get very sick, my kitties all got upper respiratory infections and them the chemical spread to the other organ and they died.

I am not the only person who has had this problem with the product and here is the site to read other stories bout different products. it's Hartzvictims.org To this day there a animals still suffering because they refuse to take any action to remove this product from the shelfs. They do not think they have to.

Please don't use any of there products. Use safe natural ways to help your kitty

I know my name

Alot of people seem to have a misconception that a Cat cannot learn there name.
This is so not true. i have found that all of my cats know there names and even as a kitten they learned it very quickly. Cat are alot more intelligent then most people may think. they also appear to have some human tendencies too. some are obsessive compulsive, Some have mood swings,some like things the same all the time,some do thing for attention and a majority of them act the same as there owner. If you take the time to watch your kitties very carefully you will see what i mean.

Is Natural Kitty Litter Right for You?

These days everyone in thinking about ways to help the Earth.
There are several Bio-Degradable kitty liter's out on the market
that are better fro the environment and your cats health, they are
made from all natural ingredients and are dust free.

Here is a list of natural kitty Litter:

Corn: The structure of corn absorbs the ammonia and binds it up
which traps the odor.Corn litter clumps and some brands are flushable.

Wheat: Made from naturally processed non-food-grade wheat, the enzymes
help eliminate orders and clump up to absorb moisture. This litter also is edible.

Soy: Made from soybean meal and granulated potato starch.
This liter controls odors and clumps. It is flushable.

Pine: Made from dried,scrapped pine lumber, it is a natural odor
neutralizer because of it's intense scent. Some clump and some don't.

Wood or Bark: Numerous types of litters are made with wood.
the raw materials come from various sources. Often as recycling
materials They absorb moisture and fight odor.

I use a mixture of the corn and the wood or bark. You can scoop out
the feces and put it in you soil because it is biodegradable.
Maybe if enough of use use these litters it would lesson the amount of
garbage being put in the dump.

Flea products

I wanted to update everyone and let them know that i have recently learned that Vinegar kills fleas. It attracts them and kills them. The recipe is 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. You use a spray bottle and spray it on your cat. You have to do it a couple times, but it works.
Also Dawn dish soap kills fleas. You can bathe your cat in it, if you want you can put a little vinegar in it to help.


Since summer is just around the corner, I thought I might discuss flea Products and Flea control.

I do not use any over the counter flea products on my cats. Last year i used the Hartz flea spray and it made my cats very sick. They got upper respiratory infection, and the chemical in there spread through there blood stream very quickly and I lost 10 of my kitty;s in a matter of a month, we tested everything, the food, the flea product and was told the food was safe and that the chemical that they use in the flea product did it. so I had to wash remaining cat's with baby shampoo. There are more people than just me who have complained to hartz and had problems with them, go to Hartzvictims.org to see other complaints.

So this is what i do to protect them.

1. The vaccum is your friend(thank you maggie) use it a couple time a day to pick them up out of your carpet.

2. Baby Shampoo (again TY Maggie) baby shampoo kills fleas safley. Do not know why it just does and it kills them right away.

3 Comb your pet daily to remove eggs. A flea lays a 1000 eggs everytime. Comb alot

4 pepermint or rosemary oil a couple drops on the neck keeps the flea's away. They do not like it.

5 you can feed you r pet a 1/2 clove of garlic every couple days, fleas don't like that either.

If you do use a flea product make sure you watch your pet for the following signs
sudden runny nose, raspety breathing, fur loss, lathargic, not eating, vomitimg, a strang grinding noise when they eat, sores or rash's. Please call the vet immediatly if you see anything like this or you pet acts not his normal self.
